Animations

You can now run short bitmap animations easily. Here is a lesson about this new feature

Start rectangle button

You can now set the color of the rectangle button at the beginning of the experiment. Normally it is red, but you can now do the following in the options:

Logic

In "if" and "while" statements, you can use the logical "and" in different ways. You can now use the following.

Logical and: "and", "&&", or just "&" Logical or: "or", "||", or just "|"

New in online surveys

Start surveys with or without recruitment platform

You can now start the same survey with or without a recruitment platform.

The benefit is that you need to create just one survey.

For example, imagine you are working with SONA to recruit psychology students for course credits. But you also want to send the same survey to friends and family. This is a common scenario. In the past, you would need to create two different surveys. But now it is easier. The SONA users will come via SONA and at the end they have a different link that the users who do not come through SONA. PsyToolkit figures that out itself, as long as you tick the box in the new section on the in survey edit page about participant recruitment. The option to select is called "Participants not coming from external website can also do the survey."

End link

In the previous versions, once participants had finished their survey, they could either go back to a recruitment system or back to a link you specficied.

In addition to this, you can now also specify an end text for an exit button (instead of a URL) and then you will just get an exit button rather than a link.
