| PsyToolkit is free of cost for any non-commercial user (e.g., students and teachers or researchers at universities). |
| All material on the PsyToolkit website is under copyright, unless explicitly stated otherwise or unless uploaded by the user him or herself. That is, your own experiments created and uploaded belong to you. But material from, for example, the lessons cannot be used for use in, for example, text book chapters, without explicity permission. |
| Teaching professionals working in primary, secondary, or tertiary or adult education can use the website in their classes, practicals, and research projects without explicit permission. However, they cannot re-publish the material without explicit permission (e.g., in text books or other websites). They must cite the work when appropriate (e.g., in journal articles about a study using PsyToolkit). |
| PsyToolkit comes without warranty. The user is entirely responsible for the consequences of use of the software and website. |
| The PsyToolkit website can be switched off at any time and users might not be warned or informed. Obviously, this is not planned and nearly impossible, given that the servers are placed in a professional data centers. The point is, though, that there are simply no guarantees. Any problems a potential switching off causes are not the responsibility of Gijsbert Stoet. The main point here is that you should not sue me for data loss. |
| Commercial use (e.g., online surveys) needs to be discussed with Gijsbert Stoet first. |
| Suspected inappropriate use (e.g., uploading indecent illegal images or unauthorised commercial use) is not allowed and when detected will be reported to the relevant authorities. |
| Gijsbert Stoet is not responsible for the studies carried out with PsyToolkit. For professional or student research, users must themselves ensure (ethical) approval for research has been given, where applicable. It is up to users to decide if ethical approval is needed (there are many cases in which this is not necessary). The main point here is that users are entirely responsible for the surveys and experiments they create. |
| PsyToolkit can be used without costs for non-commercial use, but if you use it and write reports and/or publish surveys and/or experiments using it, you have the obligation to appropriately cite it and credit Gijsbert Stoet for creating the software. |
